Ribbon Ridge AVA

With approximately 3,500 acres of land and around 620 acres under vine, Ribbon Ridge is by far the smallest of Willamette Valley’s seven sub-appellations.

Ancient, weathered Willakenzie series of soils along with geographical isolation and small size makes for unusual consistency among the appellation’s Pinot Noir which accounts for 90% of the planted acres.
The area is known for aromatic Pinots with exceptional structure, balance and dark red and black fruits. Winemakers often attribute forest floor and mushroomy aromas to aged Ribbon Ridge Pinots.

Most area growers employ sustainable eco-friendly practices like dry farming and composting. Like us, many also make their homes on the Ridge, which contributes to our desire for a healthy ecology, as well as a sense of community and collaboration pervasive in the Oregon wine community.
